State game wardens are asking for help in finding who shot a bull moose illegally on the Rocky Mountain Front.
The animal was probably killed between Nov. 12-14 along the Teton River in the Lewis and Clark National Forest west of Choteau, says Rod Duty, Fish, Wildlife and Parks game warden.
"It was a bull moose with antlers that measured 30 inches wide," Duty says. "It was just shot and left."
The shooting took place about a half mile downstream of Elko campground.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call 1-800-TIPMONT or Duty at his Choteau office: 466-5603.
Rewards are available through the TIPMONT program and informants are kept confidential.
