The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announces an emergency order closure of the State registration moose hunt in Unit 22C by permit RM852 at 11:59 p.m. September 24, 2009. The portion of Unit 22C closed by this emergency order includes the antlerless moose hunt outside of the Nome and Snake River drainages.

The Department established a harvest quota of 10 antlerless moose for registration permit hunt RM852 in the portion of Unit 22C that excludes the Nome and Snake River drainages. RM852 is one of 2 antlerless moose hunts held annually in Unit 22C to slow population growth in the area and each hunt uses harvest quotas to minimize overharvest of the antlerless segment of the population. The harvest quota of 10 antlerless moose has been reached and no further harvest is warranted.
