Preliminary 2010 New Hampshire Moose Hunt Results - Oct. 27, 2010
CONCORD, N.H. -- New Hampshire's 2010 moose season wrapped up on Sunday, October 24, with 302 hunters succeeding in taking their moose during the 9-day season. With a total of 400 permits issued, this represents a statewide success rate of 76%. About 68% of the harvest consisted of males, according to Kristine Rines, Moose Project Leader for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. In 2009, the statewide success rate was 65%.

DES MOINES - Ducks and geese aren't the only species making a fall migration to the south. In recent days, some northwest Iowa residents have been treated to the sight of a moose wandering the countryside.

BULL MOOSE SEASON CLOSURE in the GUSTAVUS PORTION OF UNIT 1(C) - Oct. 01, 2010
Biologists with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game in Douglas announced an early closure to the moose hunting season in that area west of Excursion Inlet and north of Icy Passage (commonly referred to as the Gustavus hunt area) of Game Management Unit 1(C). This area is managed under the RM049 registration permit.

DEC Reports: Moose Population Approaches 800 - Sep. 27, 2010
Moose numbers in New York continue to increase rapidly, with upwards of 800 moose estimated in the northern part of the state, the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) projects this fall. That is up from 500 just three years ago and from 50-100 moose in the late 1990s.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announces an emergency order closure of fall portion of the State of Alaska hunting season for bull moose by registration permit in Hunt RM840 in Unit 22(B), west of the Darby Mountains at 11:59 p.m. on September 8, 2010. In regulation, this area is identified as the ?Remainder of Unit 22B? and includes the portion of Game Management Unit 22B located west of the crest of the Darby Mountains.

Moose Permits to be Issued in Minto, Nenana and Fairbanks - Aug. 10, 2010
Registration permits for "any moose" hunts in the Minto Flats Management Area in Unit 20B (RM775) and "antlerless moose" hunts in the Western Tanana Flats in Unit 20A (RM768) will be issued August 4, 2010.

Vermont Moose Hunt Auction Nets Over $21,000 - Aug. 10, 2010
Waterbury, VT - Vermont's fourth annual auction of five moose hunting permits closed on August 3, with $21,976.75 taken in to help fund Fish and Wildlife Department educational programs, such as the Green Mountain Conservation Camps for 12 to 16 year old youths. Fourteen bids ranging from $1,600 to $4,570 were submitted.
